OK... not exactly a Bruiser, but this Toyota 4x4 was the last of the 4 3-speed restorations I started a few months back (click on link at the bottom of the pictures titled 'The first of several' to see the whole story starting from the first restore). This isn't really a restoration either. It is new built, never ran, totally mint right down to the side mirror. I just couldn't bear to leave it unbuilt but then after I finished building it I couldn't bear to put the original decals on it. :)

Man, now I have to admit I am getting jealous of your collection. Another gem brought back to a high standard. Your showroom must be worth a million dollars. Sheesh.

It looks great without the decals! and top colour choice too. If I owned one I'd want it to look exactly like this.

Very nice Alex, but was it neccesary to apply silicone rubber?, did you plan to run this?
Take care

Thanks for the nice words everyone! Mario, I put the silicone because I wanted the chassis/tranny to look period and most applied the silicone. I was so tempted to use allen head screws too... but I used the stock screws instead as well.

looks great if anything i prefer it with out the decals fitted it looks more like a real everyday 1:1 truck .

Ok about the silicone, right a true vintage even with the smell LOL. I only would place some decals in the search lights, no in the body!!!!! don't do that!

Yeah, you're right.. you're the second member that's opted for the decals only on the lights. I'll get some from another decal sheet so I don't have to cut up the original decal sheet and put them on.

By the way... I had a couple folks email me about the color. It is Mica Red (Shodog's favorite and now mine!). But it looks lighter and more vibrant than the first restoration because I sprayed almost 3 cans of it (it was too bright using only a couple of coats) over a white primer. The first restore I did looks a little darker because I used the Mica Red over a gray primer coat.
