As MVT pointed out in his very good tutorial, the chrome behind the gold BBS disc looks strange, so a quick masking and a spray of mat black and that is sorted.

But then I thought as I'm working on this lets push further and I decided to repaint the gold as well as it looks a bit dark and like melted colours if you look close. So as I needed a gold paint for my Tamtech wheels I found in Halfords (car shop) not just a gold metalic paint but what they call 'gold plated' effect paint. We all know about these paints but in this particular case I think it really does justice to those wheels. The paint is from 'Plastikote'.

Nice work!! - that does look good - I,ve done the black on mine , but now you've got me thinking.
Also have you got any good ideas for the TT wheels - I can't see you filling in the black bits with a brush!!! I did the opposite to you and sprayed the black , then dry brushed the spokes gold - they look pants!!

Very nice job!!! I'm in the process of painting the tamtech ones, would you share how you did yours? I'm not sure if using X or TS... Do not want to mess... Thanks

Hi Mate, wash them with Fairy liquid, use Tamiya masking tape to cover the rim and only leave the mesh visible and use TS not X. Cheers.
