This simple modification gives the TT-01 chassis an exhaust pipe (s). Time required: about 1 hour. Skill level: Easy (but some cutting and electric drill needed) Cost: About 6 pounds.
STEP 1: Gather required materials, a Tt-01 eurathane bumper, a length of plastic pipe (ideally with outer diameter of 10mm), a couple of standard tamiya type 10mm screws with washers, a drill with 8mm drill bit, black and silver enamel or acrylic paint and a junior hacksaw.
STEP 2: Decide where and how many pipes you will install, I chose 2x10mm pipes as this went well with the 2 bodyshells I use on this chassis. Mark the back of the bumper with marker pen as a drill guide.
STEP 3: Cut plastic pipe to length with junior hacksaw, about 35mm long for each pipe should be about right.
STEP 4: Carefully drill the eurathane bumper through where each pipe will go with an 8mm drill bit, being careful to keep it central.
STEP 5: Paint the pipes, sand first to provide a ket for the paint, then paint the outside silver and the inside black, allow paint to dry.
STEP 6: Fit the pipes into the holes in the bumper, with a slight screwing motion, they should be a real tight fit, leave about 5-10mm poking out to act as the 'tailpipe'
STEP 7: Using a 2mm drill bit drill down through the bumper, through the exhaust pipe top layer, then screw the fixing screws with washers downwards to secure each pipe, at about the mid point (see picture).
STEP 8: Fit bodyshell and trim any parts of the rear of the lexan shell to allow exhaust pipes to look right.

PROs of MOD:
*Looks cool to have real looking 'exhaust pipes' on your TT-01
* Because they are mounted within the bumber they have a lot of flex and as such shouldnt damage yours or any other car rear- ending you.
* Can be removed as easy as removing the back bumper
CONS of MOD:
*Adds weight to the chassis for all you racers.
*Requires an extra eurathane bumper for the back, not usually supplied in the kit (about £3)
*Requires some tools you may not have!

FURTHER MODS: you could put a red LEd in the back of the tailpipe for a 'nitro' look, cut the ends of the pipes at an angle for the 'Jap' racer look, or pain tthe pipes whatever colour you like. If you can get alluminium or chrome piping, make your exhausts from this for a more realistic look.
Hope you enjoy this mod!

Nice and simple. I do like your idea of making the car more realistic. It's also great fun to have custom bits on your ride. Makes it yours.
