Well, the windows are now cut out, i always hate that bit, because 1 slip can be a real pain, now i realise that i will have to build a basic interior to sit a drive in, as it looks silly just starig at the chassis through the glass, so now i am on the look out for 1/10th-ish scale figures to put in it, the front tool box is made and fitted, the lights have been pierced ready for bulbs or leds, the indicator and side light lenses, were a problem as early military ones are weird in that they are glass and little ears on them to twist them on and off with, so obviously i was't goint to be able to get those or even make them, (far too fiddley) so as i do i look at things that are not really meant to be, in this case i found some cheapo biros, 99p for 10, the bottoms of which are a suprising match for early lenses, they are octagonal, not round, so give the effect of the ears quite nicely, so i cut them painted the insides the relevant colour, and fitted them on,then painted the base of them to look like the screw ring the originals screw into, the back load box is made, and in the pictures you can see where it will mount, i don't think it will last long once i start using the model, but it is there for now! and i may make it removeable like the one on my 1:1 that i built, so i can save it for posing, i also have to get some scale shovels picks etc, to go on it, anyone got an idea of how i could make a good number plate? , oh well, nearly there, just the wing boxes and various aerials and the canvas to do, plus the headlight lenses, wire the lights and make the interior, ohhhh god! i thought it was nearly done!! more valium please!!
If you liked those pictures, you should see these...
