Ok, so i had to do it eventually, i was dreading the moment when i had to do the canvas top, but hey i suprised myself and it looks pretty good, even if i say so myself, the lights wired and working, so i have side and head lights, the lenses for the front headlamps are made and fitted, the rear load box is fitted and is removeable, as i just know i will smack it and break it when i am driving around, the number plates are done and fitted, thanks to Darren M for the help setting them up, the glass is fitted, and i even remembered to include the two half style, and not just put a clear sheet across he side windows, i even have the drivers side windo open, so the driver, can put his elbow out in true Landrover style, i found a mad murdoch A team figure, who will be the driver for now till i get a better suited one, well thats about it for now, still got the inside and exterior fittings to do, but it is looking more complete everyday, anyone got any union jacks digitised? i need to print some for the wing and rear bumperette, anyway, sorry the pics are crap, cheap camera, and crap photographer, but hey at least you can get the idea from them, cheers for looking, CC

lights all fitted and working, plus number plates side view of canvas, passenger window shut Wider shot showing overall look rear end, showing mounted load box and plates there is also a number plate on the body like mine drivers side view, window open from this and this to this, not finished but i like it, how bout you

My God, the detail! I've only seen this build today, I've spent the last half hour drooling over this build, it certainly outs mine to shame! I'm going to have to really step up my game! This is an awesome build, keep up the good work!

Thanks for the kind comments, i did go a bit over on the detail, as i modeled it after my own landy, my fault for bolting so many bits on to the real one, i just had it out for it's first backyard off road foray, (pretty tame) but the hummer chassis takes the landy round really well, and the way it looks, is very scale, the leaf springs on my real landy are stiffer than coils, so lifts a wheel now and then, so too does the mini landy, and it rocks from side to side just like the real thing too! i guess murdoch is in for s rough ride!! cheers for looking, CC

Ah mate, the canvas top looks really pukka! Best I've seen! The colour is perfect! Is it drill cotton and who did the sowing?? This is a real stunner mate!

Hi Dino, thanks for that nice comment, the canvas is all my own work, it is made from WW2 army cape/poncho it is great stuff as it is rubberised on inside and doesn't fray, if you like when you come to War and Peace, you can have a closer look, and i will give you a bit big enough to do yours, cheers, CC

Great idea! I loved my old Poncho! Make great bashers and keep your powder dry! Does look the business Dave! And theres me thinking you got the Missus sewing!

thanks, the old capes were cotton canvas, the nylon poncho that you would have had is not so good for the job, too shiny and nylony, lol, missus sewing is great, but i have a sick need to try and do everything on my models, need help sometimes, then i call on my mate Dibby, (top modeller) but most of time i struggle on results will never be as good as his, but at least it will be all my rough model work, lol!! ps, no sewing in whole job!!!CC

That's cool. what program did you use for that design? Did you vacume mold the body?

colonelchimp

Program??? if you mean computer CAD no it is all from my head with pictures taken of my real landy, the body is a heavily modified stretched kamtec one, but i think if i do it again i may just scratch build the whole thing, as then i can get it all just right, instead of having to make compromises like i did with this one, Cheers,
