The box art colour scheme looks great, but I wanted to go for something a little more custom without getting to fussy.
For this project I sprayed the whole body with 3 coats of chrome yellow (TS-47). Between each coat I wet sanded the whole body for that glass like finish. Next I brushed two coats of liquid mask, once dry I marked out a simple, clean design. Three coats of purple (TS-24) were then applied, again wet sanded between coats. A silver pin strip (TS-xx) was masked and then sprayed as a divide between the two main colours. After the decals had been applied, 5 coats of clear lacquer (TS-13) were sprayed over the entire body.
Finally the flat bed, windows rubbers, wing mirrors, front grill and some parts of the bumpers were treated to a coat of flat black (XF-1).
WHAT DO YOU THINK?
