High Lifted High Lift! A new look for my F-350

Hey everyone
There are 2 things i was never quite sure about with the High Lift...
One was the size of its wheels and tyres. They do give the truck a realistic 'road legal' look, but in some ways they look too small for the axels - especially the diff gear housing. They also cause the middle of the axel, and the centre skid plate to be very low to the ground.
The other thing that puzzled me with the High Lift was the body height in relation to the chassis rails. The body just looks like it sits too low on the chassis - the rails go right through the middle of the cab!?
I was very happy with the look of the truck, but i'd always intended to try 2.2 size wheels and tyres - just to see the difference it makes. The problem with fitting bigger wheels and tyres is the risk of them rubbing the body shell. Plus they make the truck look 'squashed' unless you could somehow mount the body higher.
Well, when i saw a High Lift body lift kit on ebay, i just couldnt resist it.
The kit is made by tc member 'The Hobbymaster' its its very well engineered. It consists of a set of 15 mm aluminium spacers to lift the shell, and 4 machined aluminium blocks to lift the axels.
I decided to go for 4 HPI tyres, which didnt require the full lift kit to be used - so i only lifted the bodyshell. If i ever try bigger tyres, i can use the axel lifters, which give a total tyre height of 5 inches with no rubbing to the shell!
With the body lift kit fitted, the shell is now 15 mm higher. The chassis rails are now in a more realistic position (those things really bugged me ;-)) and I've ended up with a truck that stands the same hight as my Bruiser - Nice!
To keep the gear ratio low, i've fitted a clod buster 13 tooth pinion - the truck runs quieter with this pinion too, which is good. This truck is all about pulling power as i'm fabricating an aluminium trailer for it soon.
The rest of the truck remains the same - Futaba 4 channel radio, mtroniks RV 15 esc, tamiya J motor, blue bird 14.5 KG steering servo, ball bearings throughout and no dodgey diff covers or bash gaurd in sight ;-)
Thanks for looking!

Totally agree with all your points, although personally I quite like the front bash guard. All the beefed up High Lifts out there like yours look far better than the stock set up. When I get my High Lift in a couple of months I'm defo doing this conversion right from the word go. Probably going to get Inet/RC's High Lift goodies when I get the truck.

Cheers mate. Inet rc's got some very sweet looking parts - I've had to stop myself from buying his aluminium txt-1 axels, they look amazing!

I like the matching bumper and body colour, this is the way all High-Lifts should be done!

Nice look! I think that your mods have increased its useability while retaining scale specs for a real F350 running off road 40 to 44 inch tires and rims. Thanks for the pointers, I think that I will also give it a try. Well done!!!!

wow very pretty color is a COPPER paint
Very nice high lift wasnt sure about the lift i love it but if had wanted your truck to be lifted higher up you could put 2 or more blocks under the leafs and it would sit pretty but other than that nice truck!!
Drjack
Very nice. The possibilities are just endless with these F350's. Great job!

Cheers for the comments. Since i took these pictures I've added lifting blocks under the leaf springs to increase the ride hight by another 10mm. Check my showroom for details
