Just finished building this super astute from bits for the spring drive this year. Ran it outside and it just span everywhere cos the roads were wet so I thought I'd take it in the house and set the slipper clutch up with a bit more grip. Was just punching the throttle a little bit in the lounge across the carpet......honest...... All of a sudden i found the lock up point of the slipper clutch , the car took off like you know what and slammed into the sofa..Result - broken front suspension mount (as always) and totally trashed bodyshell which was only sprayed during the week !! Gutted. Bugger !

I don't beleive you wanted to do that ! shell must have brittle or something

Oh man, I did nearly the same thing to my Gravel Hound today, two new chassis are in the post.

One good thing you never lost the front body pin .Nothing worse than wrecking something before you even get a decent run out of it .

Ouch! I've never seen Tamiya body's break like this. Looks like it's gone brittle. What paint did you use? Hope you get it fixed soon.

The body was a cheap copy i think (came with an old second hand astute ebay deal). It didn't feel brittle before the smash !! I used a mixture of Tamiya and Pactra polycarb paints so I did wonder if the two had reacted in some way ? Maybe with some cellotape and duct tape........

OUCH!!!! That is a serious BANG! Sorry to hear/see. But I see the real reson for it at the back of the car..... pink dynastorm motor!! Not so suited to in-house driving! :-P Good thing is ebay has the front for sale at present quite cheaply!
