Turbo Optima Mid
My old kyosho Turbo Optima Mid is now restored. I gave it white(the same color i had back in 1989). Everything original except for tires and bodyshell. This buggy is very special to me. It helped me win my debut race back in 1989. The great memories...
I bought it in Singapore with a years pocket money(savings) it was worthed it! It also came with a UP240se motor, Futaba megatech sport radio, Futaba mc112b esc and some crazy decals on them. check out picture 6 and 7. (really old stuffs)
There was also an Avante in my buying option but i chose the MID instead. it was a difficult decision as both cars were my favourite and the best from Kyosho & Tamiya (period). The optima mid was very popular and have great reviews from the racing scene. It certainly was reliable, quick and easy to drive.
For now, this is the best 80s 4wd buggy i've ever owned. I would like to thank 'integra fan'(decals) and 'ant0276'(bodyshell) for hooking me up with their excellent products. This restoration couldn't be possible without them. Thanks guys.

Great pics! Ivé been working on my Optima from time to time but there is a lot harder to get spareparts to old Kyosho then Tamiya.

Very true. Kyosho parts are really hard to find these days. Particularly the tires, wheels and original clear bodyset. Thanks.

Lovely - I love the wheels as well - remind me of Peugeot 205 GTI 1.9 alloys!!

I have a real soft spot for the Mid Optima - for me too it was the car that gave me my first (and only!) series win. They were simply awsome cars. Oh happy days
You've done a cracking job with the resto!
I know the shop also, can remember its name, buts its on the first floor of far east plaza, the boss there, Sam, great guy, helps me out all the time.

Nice job, always nice to see people keep there cars a long time!
I had one in White I purchased from Ebay about 2 years ago. Sold it and now regret it. This one is really nice. Love the Body and tyres. I just purchased another Turbo Optima Mid in good condtion, just need a new body and decals to finnish it. I think Il paint it yellow box art. But boy is this one nice. Thanks
