Last weekend I finally found some time to get my High Lift finished. I started it about 5-6 weeks ago by spraying the body. I wanted to be a bit different and went for a paint job with coloured bumpers and a flat black roll bar. The orange colour is a gold base with clear orange and finished with some clear. It came out very nicely! As I like details and drivers, I ordered a fantastic cockpit made by scollins, thanks mate! In mine opinion the high lift looks way better with a driver fitted. It’s a shame Tamiya didn’t think about that by themselves, now it’s only grey and black windows… I’m really happy with the end result of the driver figure, my painting skills are getting better and better :-). Oh I also loved building this one, it has lot’s of parts and it gave me lot’s of fun during the evenings!

What a fantastic colour. Rusty painted his beetle shell the same and his was also awesome. Was going to have a go at this scheme along with Rusty but theres too many on here now

Wheels are part 50673: wide 5-spoke two-piece wheels. You can find them on ebay or order them at your local dealer.
