Oh My God! Do these things take a while to build. What happened to 2 hours on a TL-01? Still, this is Chef_bikes fault.

Wanting to do something different I decided to learn how to solder and make a brass rear cage!! so the roll bar was dumped. I also made the rear tow bar and bike rack (the arms of the rack are detachable like the real thing). Next was a set of roof bars with working clamps, a fire extinguisher, roll mats, sleeping bag, tarp, aluminium sand ladders, duffle bag and a spade with a tamiya handle.

The winch on the front has an actual spool of real cable which is visible through the grill at the right angle. The fron rollers are ally and the housing was made of plasticard.

The tool chest on the rear deck is brass and the tool tray is again plasticard.

To aid my build I bought (I know it's cheating) Beadlocks and the bull bar from RC4WD (they didn't even mess up the order!! (just)), Yokoham geolanders, a 15mm body lift kit, 2 bottles of brandy, 6 bottles of wine (I made the cardboard carrier), a set of tools, saucepans and lights yet to be fitted as the build was on a schedule for this weekend with Chef_bikes.

The driver is a WWF wrestler and the Cab has a scale interior grafted in from another cheap RC Hummer that I bought when lost on the M25! (pics to follow). Cutting the window down was worrying but I wanted to see inside.

The most annoying thing is that I've had a beautiful 15' canadian canoe on order for over the last 3 weeks to go on top and it didn't arrive. I'll post pics when it does.

Hope you like it, the pics are at St Catherines Hill with Chef_bikes.

Comments always welcome

Oh yeah, the mountain bike actually works, won it for 1p on ebay.

A drink and a drive, great!! (only kidding) 1/10 Full susser on the back (1p ebay win ! ha ha) All it's missing is the damn canoe! The 2007 Mars landing was much more fun.

Best Hi Lift I've seen so far on the site. Nice original ideas and a wheel and tyre combination Tamiya should have used in the first place!

Great scale shots guys, with that nice red dirt it looks like where I've driven Jeeps in Utah in the southwestern US.
