Going all out 'SOLD'
Well finally got round to going brushless and i can say im not overly impressed. i put this down to maybe something i've got wrong in the gearing or just a duff motor ESC i dont know. see the problem is im finding it no faster then my old LRP set-up (LRP AI Runner esc and lrp GT2 turbo 17x3 motor 66t skyline gear and 24t pinion) the motor is a 5.5 (rated at 9-10 wind) so i tryed it with as close to the manual as i could get 74t gear 21t pinion. great run times poor speed so ive change the pinion to a 17t seems alittle better but still not what i thought a brushless would be like. so if anyone has used brushless in there top force i'd like to hear from you to see what gearing i should try out if that dont work ill be looking into a duff motor. Oh batterys are both 3000 could this be my problem? tips please?
Other then that been blinging it out abit or as i like to see it as making it stronger and handle better. I have been testing/racing this at the local club and it stands up well against alot of the newer buggys on the indoor track but being brushless and with alot of odd hop-up it's abit of a out-law so im there really just for fun and cant gain any real prizes for winning! still need some counter sunk screws to finish this so if anyone has some alum blue one can i buy them please?? i thought it would be a good idea to get as much cool air into the thing as possable and it seems to work great as everything keeps nice and cool and ill do a 'retro' body at the end of the year to give it a vintage feel.

Looks nice chap, sorry cant give any advice on brushless - not gone there yet. What are the white arms??

I had the same experience putting brushless in a top force. I can only assume its the drivetrain losses or something, maybe brushless is not as torquey as a conventional set up. I put the same brushless set-up (Novak 5800) into my Dyna Storm and it performed much better! Nice car by the way!

Hi there, can you twll me where the rear sway bar came from? P.S I run my evo with a 10t reedy and Novak no limit and it goes like the wind.

Just a thought, contact Lemming. He has a brushless TF and it absolutely flies!!
them white arms are rare manta ray white arms i've had kicking around in the spares box. rear arm is the rally or 4wd rear say bar hop-up one of tamiyas own i just added longer turn buckles to help keep it level. looking into possably working some sort of ta01 gearbox matted to a slipper clutch system from the dark impact any help with this i like to hear from you all

Hi, i have a mamba max 5700 brushless system in my stock top force, tried it with a 17t pinion and the esc programmed to low timing, high traction controll and low start power and running a 3900gp nimh battery. And it was really fast, don't have much to compare with as i have litle experience with low turn brushed, but i think it would outrun most of them. And there is still a huge potential for more speed with different gearing, programming and batteries. The only problem is that the driveline can't handle the power, usually the diff, splines in the preassure plates or the gears wear out before the pack is emty
