Second and nicer Hliux
This Hilux arrived in the post today - and it would have been immaculate if the customs guys hadn't decided to open the blisters up for a look around. Just think, some bored customs guy got to do for work what most of us dream of doing! It's obviously a shame, but there's nothing I can do about it and at least they didn't loose anything ... I guess they've just decided which one I should build first =)
I've swapped the opened blister pack with my other NIB Hilux (which is a little more beaten up anyway but luckily has very nice condition blisters) and included a picture of what most of us will never see in the flesh: the inside of a freshly opened Hilux blister pack ... well, at least until Tamiya re-release this model, right?!!?!
Oh - and I've finally come up with a solution to the drooping 3-speed transmission blister problem! I've found an old baby food container which is exactly the same height as the box that sits underneath it. Given this box isn't that full anyway, I've put it underneath the transmission to support it without slowly crushing the life out of all the cardboard underneath it. Very happy! Now I just need to find another 5 or so of those things.

I would be furious. Just gotta love the government, eh?

I'm sure at some point, someone did try and smuggle something inside a toy model of some kind. You just wish you could write 'I'm one of the good guys' on the box to let them know they don't need to rifle through your stuff. They also stuck a knife through the top of my TXT-1 box. I guess I should just be happy all my other kits made it through unscathed =)

Yikes, I'm glad the customs guys in the US could care less what I order from over seas.
