Just thought i´d post a few pics of the mods, currently made to my F-350..

As you can see, it has now been eqipped with HPI Yokohama tyres, on Thunder Tiger rims, which greatly has improved traction. Also, the rear diff is now locked. To mount the bigger wheels, i had to make some sort of bodylift. This was achieved by placing spacers and nuts under the shell and rear bed, to give it approx. 7 mm of lift, which is suitable.

Also, i have reloacated the bateryholder to the top of the chassis, under the bed, using the same holes, but not all of the screws, as all of them wont fit. The 'thingys' on which to close bed onto, were getting in the way after relocating the batterybox, but this only required a couple of small moves with the Dremel, to make it fit again.. And yes, the battery STILL fits in the holder. ;)

Also, especially when running on rocks, the massive torque in first gear has a tendancy to twist the leaf springs if the wheel are trapped, which eventually will destroy the leafs.

I have attempted to remedy this by attaching radius arms, as seen on some of the old 3-speeds also. These arms are re-cycled from my stashbox of TLT-1 parts. The rear ones are, as you can see, put together from 2 shorter rods which are connected by the threaded 'tube' in the pics.. They are all connected to the standard holes in the underguard.. It will be exciting to see how they stand up against the abuse they most likely will be put through..

Comments are more than welcome. :)

Cheers..
Michael

That's a great idea for the radius arms. Mine run a little different but no matter how you set them up, if you're running a soft spring set up and doing some extreme driving they are definately a must have! Love the white cab!

Thanks for all the nice comments.
I also thought that white would be the best colour for it, simply because i din´t want to spend huge amounts of time painting it, and then just go and scratch it all up afterwards. (I HATE halfway-decent paintjobs).. So i just polished the shell with an automotive polishing compuond, and voila! the mirror-like striping at the bottom of the shell is aluminum-foil tape, i had lying around, just to add a little 'vintage-look' to it..

awesome mods you've done lad, i might have to nick your radius arms idea as im sick of the leaf springs bending! i too run the hpi yokahama tyre's but on chrome mt2 rims and with both diffs locked there isnt that much it wont go over! superb truck lad!

Did you paint the wheels or are they a black set? I painted my ones black the other week as i was tierd of the silver colour! Igbandy, those rims came free with a nitro truck magazine, you might be able to find some off ebay. They are from a thunder tiger SSK.

No, they were an annoying silver colour.. Not suitable for this truck

Ooops, i forgot to mention.. The broad 'band' of cables, going over the batterybox are the cables to the rear lights.. It has got a custommade lightkit from EZLEDZ, consisting of 4 bright white LED in the front (20.000 mcd i beleive), and 4 reds in the rear.. On the roll bar are the 5 normal, green Tamiya LEDS from the Monster Truck light set..

It was simply done by inserting 4 pieces of aluminum tubing underneath the radiotray, lifting the entire assembly..
