About two months ago I bought a used but still good blackfoot from a very nice guy from Austria. The body was missing the rear bumper, driver and windows, but it was unpainted and in a quite good condition. Only minor thing was that I had to fill some extra drilled holes and make the bed complete flat, but that isn’t a big deal. Overall just perfect for the project I had in my mind, a realistic and stock looking Ford pick-up!

As chassis I used a M-04L chassis with beetle wheels and smoothee buggy tires. The idea of using smoothees came from Cardesigners stunning Toyota 2000GT. Think these smoothees are almost perfect for this project, the size is just right, they have a big sidewall and aren’t too wide, only some profile is missing on it.

Maybe no windows in this car, but with the repro interior and driver from a hi-lux it looks a lot better than just the original black tinted windows and ‘small’ driver figure. I really like this driver and interior, it makes the car a lot more alive! The rear bumper came from my nib pumpkin body parts (now I need one for that body…). It uses different mounting holes but it fit’s perfect. As the chrome front grill/bumper wasn’t perfect and had some bad spots on it, I decided to give the Ford an old and rusty look. Think it suits the dull red painted body very well.

Awesome, had to take a second look as I thought it was real. Very realistic looking, had I known you were going to harm that poor Pumpkin's bumper, I would have dug a Blackfoot one up sooner. I do like the Smoothie idea, worked superbly and will keep this in my favorites for when I finally start on my F150 project.

Very humble and cool. Understated enough to truly make it look real. More scale than most of the Blackfoot-F150s out there-anywhere! NICE-

Thanks for all your nice comments!!
@Singapore_959: Wheels are just stock beetle ones with some 'rust' on it.
@Crash Cramer: Don't bother about the now missing pumpkin bumper, I will find another one when I start with the (custom) pumpkin project .

Another wheel/tyre suggestion. HPI make a good looking wheel and tyre package with their Vintage series( a heavy 5 spoke ), but you would probably need to space the front wheels out to fit the chassis. I glued two hex's together ,outside to outside, then ground one down to approximately 1/2 so that the overall length was about 1 1/2 times the original length. This combo makes the front wheel track about 5mm wider than standard, but it is not noticeable. The rears don't need spacing out as they don't foul. I have these on my M02/Pumpkin project and the body looks about the same size so they would look awesome under it.
