After trying with the original setup, i´ve now installed the original HP suspension kit. Hornet rear oildampers and parts for adjusting the front springs (basically spacers). A SuperStock RZ gives it more than enough power. Very hard to get it going straight on anything but tarmac, well i have problems there too sometimes. More pictures will be added later.

Thanks! It´s one of those car that everyone should have, both fun and challenging to drive at the same time. And they look SO good!

Nice hopper. I am about to start my hopper build and plan to use a Super Stock motor as well (the TZ rather that the RZ). I do have a higher performance ESC (Duratrax Sprint, if needed) and plan to order the 18t pinion. Is there anything else I should do or purchase to make this motor work with this car? Thanks for your time.

Thanks Kevin! You need a different pinion than used in modern Tamiyas. The 18t Subaru Brat 540 Pinion Set works (SP-192). Theres the difference between metric and 0.18 pitch, or what it´s called. It will be very fast with the Super Stock for sure. But with the right pinion, there shouldnt be any other problems. You´d like to upgrade the rear shocks at some point also probably.
