Modern Avante
The buggy started life as a Dark Impact with reversed mounted front shocks. Then, it is converted to a black avante shell with the stealth theme. I like to thank all you guys who gave me great comments and inspirations on my black avante. In return, i have created an updated version of the DF03 avante.
The shell is based on my black avante. All the black paint was removed with nitro fuel and resprayed and decaled(home made + leftovers)
The main idea behind the design is 'create a modern avante with stock tamiya feel'. All of the parts are from Tamiya except for the 3 racing shocks. Theres a cut out 'road wizard' driver inside the cockpit and it doesn't interfere the mechanics. The driver head is from a 'Castrol honda civic'. Many Thanks to tc member BigWig, who donated the road wizard shell to me. A lot of hours have gone into the colors and decals. I consider this buggy is one of my personal best. I hope you guys would like it.

Awesome job! Very well balanced color scheme and stickers. The cockpit and driver are outstanding. If there was a way for Tamiya to re-release an Avante on a DF-03 chassis, this one would’ve been a great start!
Cheers!
Very nice buggy! are those 3racing shocks? Do they have more pack than the stock shocks?
Simply amazing. Tamiya, are you listening?? This is what we want!!! Great job dr.! Is there any way of getting someone to do a reproduction body?

GREAT!

Thanks for your kind words guys. I'm so glad that you liked it. Its going to be a shelf queen. J, the shocks are 3 racing. i'm not sure what you meant by 'more pack'. The Avante reproduction shell can still be found on ebay.

LOvE the colour scheme mate- really original and sharp!! Great work.

Gorgeous!! A proper nice paint scheme. And very original/retro. Cracking work!!!
Oh sorry for not clarifying, by 'more pack' I mean do the pistons move more slowly through the same weight shock fluid?
dr.roberts
J, the 3 racing shocks move slightly slowly than the stock plastic, but this can be adjusted with different pistons setup(provided) and silicon oil. The springs are stiffer though. Thanks.

Very nicely executed unique model, looks factory.

Well done, very smart use of color with great lines. Nice taste you have, this is an example of creative graphics lots of people can learn from. Bravo, dude!
Perfect car!!! What kind of chassis is it? Looks like Kyosho Z5? I'm going to do something like that with a B44 as Chassis (Not much mony at the moment, just a student in germany...).
dr.roberts
Hi Andreas, the chassis is stock Tamiya Dark Impact DF03 with reverse mounted front alloy shocks. Thanks..

Still my favourite car here on TC!!!

Top job there mate, you gave the DF03 the dignity that Tamiya completely lost it with the MkII Avante!
Incredible looking car and fantastic paint scheme. Thanks to this I have now added another shell to my wishlist. Great work!!!
