The former project of making a light weight, and strong chassi out of fiberglass or carbon have been banished. This chassi is made out of 1mm alu. It is stronger then fiberglass, and thougher then carbon in smaches (if hitting a rock or so). The stiffness of the chassi is far more stiff then the original plastics. The homemade servosaver, will proabably be replaced with an RC10 or similar. With that solution of steering you get rid of all the bumpsteer, and get a neutral steering geometry. Put in a Futaba microservo for the steering, worked great. is so far TUBK101.

I once made a body for a Mad bull out of 1mm alloy, but it wasn't a sucess. It would bend at every crash, and was impossible to straighten out again to look good. Alloy is pretty soft at this thickness

I hope you have better luck with the chassis though!

pretty cool looking. I like the way you put the driver's helmet on there and the nice little tail skid plate near the rear of the car. I am not so sure I am in love with the steering, but I guess I am a fan of bumpsteer.
