Wanted to protect my rare'ish M03 Mini with the BRG shell, so I bought a Kamtec Golf body as a supplement.
Not terribly impressed with the finished of the body I received, lots of air bubbles in the lexan and slightly crooked as well.
But for a runner it didn't turn out too bad, sadly I messed up the body mount holes. You'd think the 5 mm difference in wheelbase from the Golf to the Mini wouldn't be a big deal but the rear arches are not centered over the wheel :-(

Coooool, is that body still available for sale???
Steffen
Kamtec only sells the ABS version of the shell, but you can get the lexan one if you ask. I think it cost about £7.50. It seems to be a straight copy of the Tamiya 1/12 Grp. 2 Golf from the 80s.

Thanks, I have asked. I bought the ABS and then submitted a query to uprate to lexan, we shall see what appears on my doorstep. I must say you have to search Kamtech's page for V12 bodies as the Golf MK1 doesn't do anything in the search engine.
Steffen
Good luck, I'll look forward to seeing your finished version.

I finally got around to my chassis build and I wasn't really able to find a suitable look for this body on my chassis'. I tried M01 and M03 and even M05 variants. It is a shame, these bodies look ready to run and sharp, but they just don't fit the wheelbase of the M chassis, I am nearly certain they will fit the old original Tamiya Golf Mk1 chassis with ease. Oh well.
Steffen
If you play around with the rear suspension arms, like mod you do to build an M-04SS, you could probably accomplish a 205 mm wheelbase.

I did some fiddling, but I did get distracted and I ran out of chassis as I now have a Mini on the M01, another Mini on the M03 and a CR-X on the M05. Perhaps one day I will try it again, but since I will be selling my 1:1 Cabriolet, I won't want to open that wound.
