Remove TS paint from a lexan body

I recently got a Celica body from my uncle which he painted with TS paint. The paint could be removed easily from large areas where the paint is thick and the body is thin. Just bent the body a bit and the paint pops right of.
However on other areas were the paint is thinner or the body can't be bent removing the paint is a real pain in the a**.
Someone in the forum told me to use nitro fuel which works on some types of paint. I've used 16% Tornado fuel, poured a bit in the body and left it there for a half a minute. The paint started to react almost right away! I removed the paint gently with a brush. The body looks like new, no clouding at all.
So when you want to remove paint try nitrofuel first. It coult take some time for the paint to react with the nitro, that all depends on the kind of paint used. Try it on a piece of lexan first tho to be sure the fuel doesn't cloud the body.
After all the paint has been removed wash the body very thoroughly with detergent and your ruined body is like new!

You can use brake fluid too.

Yeah so I heared. However I think almost everyone has a can of nitro fuel and nitrofuel is less nasty than brake fluid right. I also heared that brake fluid makes the body cloud.. Have you used brake fluid to strip bodies and how did it turn out?
I used it on my clod shell (a ABS shell, i don't now how it turns out with lexan) lay it for a few hours in brake fluid, take a brush and wipe the paint off. Brake fluid can't stand water, so a little warm water, a cloth to dry and away is the fluid and the paint. (sorry for my bad english but i'm from Belgium)

ABS shells are a bit diffent from lexan ones. On ABS I used oven cleaner which works great with original Tamiya paints. When that fails I'll give the brake fluid a try. If Someone used brakefluid on a lexan body please at a comment with your findings!

Dont use brake fluid on a lexan body as it will cloud the lexan then make it brittle and crack.

Thank you for your comment!
I concur with Dazmeister on that one. I stripped my Top Force body using brake fluid. It didn't so much cloud the lexan but certainly made it very brittle. Nitro fuel is a much better alternative, or unlike in my case, paint the body right the first time!

Haha Prosey that last solution is the best

Hi, coleagues. I recently tested brake fluid on a Frog body I got with the lower part of windshield painted. (A frequent error due to the median fold on it, wich is taken for a paint limit.) This solution works. 3 or 4 careful applications were necessary, using a semi-hard brush, to steep the paint. But then it was easy to wipe it off. The most important thing is to wash IMMEDIATELY after, with warm water and soap. So, the brake fluid has simply no time enough to make the lexan brittle. This Froggy will be soon added in my showroom...

the best is royal purple on abs bodies just soke body overnight and paint comes right off no harm done to plastic at all.
