Liked what the other members had done by adding trailers, so, I decided to do one too. Got the box on E-bay, quite a while ago. It was missing a few parts but I was able to get them from Tamiya USA. Rear door hardware is from the box trailer as the original parts were not available. I used the leftover frame from the 1838 build to mount the box and for the custom front dolly. Instead of the double axle, I opted for a single at each end. Used the stock springs but had to modify the axles by trimming down around the base where the springs attach and using spare Bruiser U-bolts to fasten the springs to the axles.

I used the same chassis attachment method for the springs and axles as done on the stock steering axle. The dolly is steerable with a custom made draw bar, hooked up to the standard pole trailer connector using the standard ring. In order to stabilize the trailer as it turns, I used a 3 inch wooden platform between the dolly and the box. In this way the trailer follows the truck without trying to tip over no mater how tight the turning radius. As frame space is tight, I used the chrome front mud guards from the King Hauler as mud flaps for the front and rear trailer axles. The bumper is also from a King Hauler.

Lastly I upgraded the lighting for the truck as I wanted the trailer to have lights. To this end I upgraded the 1850L tail lights to include rear running lights based on a well written article which I read here. I used 3MM red LED's 1.5 - 3.0 Volts with a 150 Ohm diode. These worked well, just plug into the electrical unit's roof lamp connector. Next I set up the reversing lamps using 5MM LED's with a 150 Ohm diode. These lights are connected to the lighting units motor wires, with the polarity set up where the LED's light when the truck backs up.

For the trailer, I fabricated a custom wiring harness using LED's. Since the rear bumper is from a King Hauler and has only two lights on each side, turn signal and brake, I decided to incorporate running lights in the brake light housing. I used a red 3MM LED in each housing to have constant lighting and when the brakes apply to the white 5MM LED the assembly glows brighter giving me the desired effect. All the wires from the trailer are connected to the electrical unit in the truck via a male and female 9 pin computer connector which can be disconnected at any time so that I can run the truck without the trailer. I hope you like what I have done, thank you for looking, comments always welcome.
