I bought this car from another Dutch collector. It was almost completely mint. However the decals weren't applied perfect. So, the perfectionist that I am, I bought a new decalsheet at my LHS (thank god Tamiya Netherlands had still one in stock).

You guys should have seen the face of my girlfriend when she saw me removing all Castrol decals (which in her eyes were nicely applied :P ). With the use of a bit of soapy water and the hairdryer the decaling took one evening and I'm very pleased with the result.

When I bought this car it didn't had the proper wheels fitted. I bought the wheels and tires (Super slicks) cheap from Hong Kong. They have a massive 10mm offset at the rear. When I applied the decals to the wheels they wouldn't stick. So I used the beloved hairdryer again and surprisingly they stayed on the tires!

I added a single driver cockpit set to this one. I really love painting these things. Too bad it's the left hand driver version though, it should have been the right driver version as this is an Japanese car.. It's really a shame Tamiya discontinued these cockpitsets. I also added an wiper from the Alfa 155.

Enjoy the pictures and comments are welcome!

Thanks to Mr Miller I've found a set of Japanese cockpitsets with the driver on the right side! Now all I have to do is find some time to paint them.

+10mm offset! Some leftover HKS Racing decals on the helmet

Glad you got it Vincent! Doing the decal on this one is very tricky. I've done one and fortunately no airbubbles were present. Personally, I think from the photo this looks great!

Looks great! Really like the cockpit too! I agree with you it's a shame tamiya discontinued these cockpits. I do also like to build all my cars with drivers, that looks so much better in my opinion.
