If you're as old and decrepit as me, you may have witnessed such things like a low fly past by an Avro Vulcan, or perhaps the maiden and final flights of Concorde. I remember lying on a raft in the sun in the middle of one of the reservoirs near Heathrow watching it fly over as it headed off to our cousins in the States, WOW! what a noise, I'm not surprised they refused to let it land for years.

It's witnessing these sort of things that makes me feel cold. One which actually brings a tear to my eye is the sound of the Group B Quattro S1.

To quote Michelle Mouton 'if I have some emocion, it's of course ze noise of ze Quattro'........and with that, there was no way could I buy an S1 body and do it in Carson's Pikes Peak livery. So armed with a roll of yellow Solartrim, some Plasticard to build the rear wing and eventually sourcing some HB International logos, I set to work on making it look more pleasing to my eye. I hope very much, it does the same for you.

Nice touch, the car of course needs a sound unit with the engine noise from the 1:1.
It's lovely creation, so glad you got pics before we wreck it on the next meet up

But it has four wheels on the ground and all pointing the same direction...... can't be a recreation.... hehehehe only kidding, great car and a hark back to the proper days of rallying.

Thanks for the comments chaps. Yes, it will get run, and eventually wrecked, I suppose I'd better order a second, and Ben, I'm working on the sound unit! A preview: [Click here]

Great pics buddy, wow it is really Green there even in winter. I've never seen a Concorde but I remember all the media talk about them

I once witnessed the sound (and speed!) of a Group B S1 at a Hill Climb event about 15 years ago and it was a totally awesome experience. Nice work on your re-creation.

Very tasty, needs a flame spitting exhaust though . I remember a Lightning pilot doing a short takeoff, then standing it on it's tail & banging it through the sound barrier straight up!! I was also at Duxford when Concorde 002 was flown in by the late Brian Trubshaw.

Nice job ! I have the Chevron version which comes with the livery you have recreated. Great motor ! I too am now considering a second shell so that I can go out and destroy the first ! I also have a Chevron Lancia 037 which is also too nice to use - another shell to be 'doubled up' on !
Hoping to have a Metro 6R4 shell out early next year, along with mk1 and 2 Ford Escorts ! Have a look in my showroom !
