I'm at work today, and a co-worker brings in his friend who has an RC tank in the back of his truck on the way to the dumpster. He offers me to check it out but before I get up out my chair I ask, is it a big one? Hoping in the back of my mind it's a Tamiya. I go out to his truck to find this beast. A freakin' 3 foot RC tank! This thing is huge! It measures 36'x16'x13'. I couldn't belive it, and then he just gives it to me saying it was headed for the trash because it no longer works right. I'll take it. I put it in my trunk and it has to weigh every bit of 25 lbs. And it's sooo detailed. Just as much as a Tamiya tank. I opened the batt. hatch and found a hugh battery that looks like it could power my 1:1 car! I want to open it up and see what all runs this thing. It has a working turrent and all sorts of sounds. I am hoping I can switch out the radio gear for a real stick radio. It says 21st century toys on the back of the cheap, toy-like controller. Never heard of it. Are they popular somewhere else in the world? I haven't had any time to do any research yet so if anyone has any info, let me know what's up with this thing.

Look at this battery, WTF? Details. A little dirty, but in great shape. Top view. Can't beat free.

21ste century, toy grade but close to model base details, very nice! with a bit of work on drivetrain and rc gear could match with Tamiya

Sweet Tank buddy, I think they sold these at wal-mart awhile back just for Christmas time, They had some other big tanks to, I am sure you can swap in some better radio gear. I wish Tamiya would do some modern American Armor.

This tank will definately crush something with all the weight of that battery! It looks awesome! Always wonder how it is like to drive with an RC tank... How many servos does this thing have?

21st Century toys make the 'Ultimate Soldier' brand of 1/6th scale GI Joe/Action Man style figures and vehicles (including a 1/6th scale RC Stuart light tank). They also now do a 1/18th scale line of vehicles and figures. This is part of a 1/9th scale series of RC tanks they did 4 or 5 years ago, but they weren't very successful due to their odd scale (they also do the 1/18th scale 'Forces Of Valor' figues and vehicles too)

There is a guy who had made some modifications to his for better running and upgrading the RC system:

There was a couple of these things sitting out at a local military book shop before Christmas. They only had around A$380 on them. That's pretty cheap for what you get. The guy at the shop said they were a Walmart special. Its a bit vague but it might be a lead.
I was really tempted myself, but after my wife bought me a Super Clod and a Hilux I thought it might be a tad greedy.

Thanks for the info fellas. I'm going to do some research tonight and see how I can get this thing moving. If not, it's going to be the worlds biggest static model.

Hey B, what ever happened to this?? I will have to drop by and see this sometime if you still have it. I wonder if the lead acid battery just finally gave up as they don't have much of a charge life.
