Hello chaps. I tried really hard not to buy an f350. I wanted one, but managed to hold back as I'd spent a lot last year on r/c bits and pieces, and even built (lashed up!) my own leaf sprung 3 speed using a home built steel chassis and a scania gearbox/tlt transfer case, to help satisfy my urge. (I will post pics of the home made thing soon). All was going well until they released this Toyota. Its, arguably, the best scale hardbody tamiya ever made, and I just couldn't resist.
This is my first attempt at painting a hardbody with any sort of care, so go easy on me! I originally intended to paint it orange, but popped into good old Halfords, wandered past the paint section, and ended up with a can of Ford Highland(bogey/booger?) green. Kind of wanted an old, utility looking colour, but not military. I dont think it turned out too bad, but reactions from friends have been mixed. Its very shiny too, which wont last long when I roll it down some rocks. De blacked the chrome using the nail varnish remover method, and will probably paint the roll bar black if i fit it. Went for 2.2's and moabs, as I bought the tyres (tires for you guys across the pond;-)) about a year ago, and was determined to use them. I am still considering some 1.9's, especially after seeing Wyoming's old beater, but will run it as is for now. Take it easy.

It wont be this clean for long Should've removed the casting marks. Impatience!

Nice colour, dont think I've seen another on TC that colour, not yet anyway. Looks very nice and neat, top job done I think. Never had a 3 speed but I think when the day comes this will be my chosen one.

You mentioned being on the lash, I've just my first spraying painting after a couple of beers. It was only nuts and springs for my Humvee but I dont think it was a good idea, wont know till the morning when I inspect them. Keep up the good work!

I really like it! But id go for 1.9's like you are thinking, some Hummer wheels and new rc4wd tires to help fill the arches. Love the colour, really suits it.

Very nice looking truck buddy, I really like the color it has a very period feel, As for the tires the Moabs will perform better than what I used on mine in many terrains. I agree totally about the body, they are true works of art down to the turn markers and rubber molding wow, I hope they do more bodies of this caliber.

Wow, for some reason, that works well. In my neck of the woods, I would suspect it was a Border Patrol truck, but that need some white paint on it as well to be sure of a Border Patrol truck. Nice job.

Thanks for the comments lads. Volksrod, I have aquired some hummer rims, and I think my next purchase will be rc4wd's new 1.9's in the soft compound. They'll have to wait though.££! Still recovering from xmas! Crash, I know what you mean about it working well. Looking at the colour before I painted it, I was a bit, mmm! but it seems to have turned out ok. Sorry Green beetle, I dont have a paint code, and have thrown the can away. but will do some research and see if I can find one. Should have some action shots soon. When it stops raining! Cant wait to test those moabs seth. I've been rolling them over the dogs head/coffee table etc. for the last year waiting for something to fit them too. Cheers.

I like the colour, bigger wheels and tyres as well (not keen on the original, they don't work for me) Looks good without the roll bar. Very nice
