This is something I think Tamiya should have made! So here it is for the competition entry...
I started with the Pajero XB. I put on some 2.2' Losi Smashers & HPI rims. I also fit a Radio Shack Mangler (Ford Bronco) body and aluminum shocks of forgotten origin.
I fabricated a new..um..servo mount to fit the Hitec HS-645MG servo under the Bronco body. I might have gotten a little carried away with the chassis cutting, but it turned out pretty good IMO. I kept the angle of the servo horn the same so the steering wouldn't be affected by the move.
The second pic would be the optional Tamiya Hardcore Off-Road wheel/tire set (which in this case is HPI wheels & Imex Swamp Dawg tires).
This shows the RTR XB version with JR radio gear, Novak Reactor ESC, and Multiplex Permax 600 motor.
Of course I'm never quite done with anything. Next up will be a more angled skidplate & the whole back half of the chassis will be replaced with some aluminum channel & a better 4-link suspension.
