I've never really studied the TNX but from the pics they look quite T-Maxx'ish - are they?

The are pretty similar in concept - 2 shocks per corner, modular design and open chassis for easy maintenance but the actual construction is a bit different. The TNX is also bigger than a T maxx but apparently about the same weight. The newer TNX 5.2 is in a different league as the engine is huge
