hello
Once upon a time, in a foreign land, a young kid, 13 years old, received for Christmas a Grasshopper II Super G. Santa Claus was a nice man, knowing this car had a 1800 french francs tag price at this time (including radio, battery and charger).
He drove and trashed his car as much as he could, until that bloody friday, when a miscontact in the manual speed control cause the car to go forward at full speed, with the radio turned of.
Fortunately, it did not go to far
Unfortunately, it came to a (very) brutal stop on the corner of the opposite wall
Despite the crash, the broken body and chassis, the burned MSC, the car was still used by the (no longer a kid but now a ) young man.
Then, as most of us experienced that, the young man went to university, found a job and left the car in his parents garage.
a few years went by
During the 2001 year, the (no longer a young) man discovered ebay, started browsing website about tamiya, feeling that he is missing something
.
In a LHS, he found a grasshopper II box, with a new chassis, body and wheels, so , he rebuilt the car.
In the same time, he started to buy some other cars, a monster beetle, a tamtech, and so and so.
A few months later, needed spaces, he (sadely) sold his beloved grasshopper II (at least, it made a great X-mas gift for somebody else, and I have to admit I felt good for this).
Another few years later, I was browsing ebay, and saw buy-it-now auction for a Super G grasshopper. After 5 seconds of 'do I, do I not?', I bought it.
It arrived yesterday. it's beautiful. gorgeous. NEW !!. they is no sign of it beeing used before. It's back on my shelf. I'm a 13 years old kid on X-mas day. As we say in french, 'la boucle est bouclée'. (sorry guys, I simply don't know if there is a english way to say that).
Thanks for reading, I hope it's readable .
the first picture is my 1989 car, the others are the one I received yesterday.
