Madcap 2.0
About the time i started to get back into RC, i stumbled across TC and started to think about a new car, saw Beetleracer69's Des 'D' Tute gator and thought how cool it looked.
It's taken me a long time, primarily as Sand Viper decals take ages to get hold of, but i've finally finished my homage to my favorite Tamiya buggy.
I had a madcap back in the day, fully hopped up with Hi-Caps, astute wheels, the lot. having no idea what i did with it I decided to follow the Des 'D' Tute example and create a modern version of a Madcap re-re.
Started life as a cheap Sand Viper basher in bad shape from ebay.
Now fter several re-builds It has:
Super Stock RZ motor,
Star Dish Wheels with Schumacher yellow dot mini pins,
DF03 Alu shocks, with silver springs,
3-racing DF03 CVD's,
GPM Alloy drive hexes,
Tamiya DT02 Ball diff,
Tamiya DT02 Turnbuckle set.
I thought long and hard about a way to get the Madhatters stripe from the Madcap on the car, but in the end, decided that it looked best with a cleaner look.
Any comments always welcome.

Thanks, i'm loving the clean look too, although as i'm going to be running it it won't stay pristine for long! lol

'TAMIYA RACING FACTORY' I like it!
super gripper
3 racing do a new motor heat sink, should have got myself one when I ordered the last of the DI bits. I have gone down a simular route with my Gator thats also featured here in the DT-02 group. It has all the parts you have on yours just kept the standard Gator wheels but put proper buggy tyres on - schumacher yellow mini spikes.

Very Nice!!! my first 2wd was the MadCap, in fact it was the first car I got to choose, buy, build all on my own decisions. I like your 2.0 version, hopefully Tamiya can take a hint and work up some different bodies for its current line of cars and then 'spruce up' the decals and make some MK 2 buggies. Well until then, we can create our own. I like the clean look, but sorry to say that any vintage buggy is NOT a vintage buggy without the Driver's Name. What have you done with 'Sammy Screwloose' ??? I know his name is going to be hard to cut out, but I bet you will think of something. Nice job there.
