Upon my wanderings in Paris, I came across this store which looked like the cavern of Ali Baba: picture yourself a small room with a guy behind his desk and if one person was already in the store, you had to wait for him to come out before you could come in. And when you are in this store, you are litterally surrounded by boxes of static kits piling up from the floor to the ceiling. Incredible! I asked the guy if by any chance, he still had some RC kits from the eighties. He told me he had some old Kyosho and Tamiya kits, but locating them in the mess of his store was another story. I raised my eyes and saw a familiar picture: a Turbo Optima MID kit buried behind tons of old stuff. I told him I had to have it and it took him 2 months to finally get it back from his mess and sell it to me. Good thing is that he asked me the price he sold the kit when it came out back in the days! Since then, I bought him all his vintage stuff: Salute, Rocky, Turbo Rocky, Turbo Ultima, and Boomerangs. I don't think luck like this happens twice in a lifetime but who knows...
So here is the Turbo Optima MID built from a NIB kit (in my hands NIB don't stay NIB for long). It was run twice and then put on a shelf since I now have 2 MID runners.
Enjoy!
