Inspired by some awesome Lunchbox-interpretations on TC, I decided to change the look of mine. Some olive drab and german grey paint, XR311 stickers and mesh and voilà: The Combat Box!
The original body and the chrome wheels were already bruised from some serious bashing last summer, so I kept those for running.
The chassis itself features countless modifications: aluminium oil shocks, 3rd shock mod, chassis brace, wheelbar brace, ball bearings, Novak XBR EX8.5 brushless system, etc.
It's so much fun!

Get a nice fat pair of wheelie bar wheels on there Brushless is what these little trucks are made for! Great colour scheme

Thanks all for the nice comments!
The wheelie bar brace helps a bit, but I mostly drive it in a nearby sand pit. No wheelies there, but the use for lots of power!

Like the military look.

I never get tired of the vintage US military look of good old OD and white stars, nice one, I keep thinking I should paint my real Dodge pickup this color

I'm going to go ahead and say this is my personal favorite LunchBox I've ever seen! I'm a fan of army green (I just finished a Subaru Brat in the same color) so to see it on the LunchBox is awesome! Thanks for confirming my thoughts that this would be a great color scheme! I guess I should try my other idea on my LB....light pink!

Since I've listed this as one of my favorites...it's one of my favorites of the list of favorites. Would it be lame to paint my LB in the same color?

Whatever you like, go ahead! Thanks!

This is the best alternate look I have ever seen for a Lunch Box, absolutely love it! I hope you dont mind but I am planning on doing something very similar to my own kit.

Loving this colour scheme! I was thinking of getting a 3rd lunchbox to do the Rollin Thunder paint job but this looks sooooo much better. The matching wheels set it off nicely too.

Just stumbled across this. Awesome paint job. What’s the colour make/spec?

I used Tamiya TS rattle cans as always.
Colours are Olive Drab and German Grey

22-Feb-2023

Great. Don’t suppose you can remember whether it is the TS-5, 28, or 70 olive drab?

Dante77

22-Feb-2023

Although already 15 years ago (wow!), I think it was TS-5. Definitely wasn't TS -70.

22-Feb-2023

Cool. Much appreciated. Seems mad to be discussing something from 15 years ago!

Kind of. But I still have them all!
