I figured it was time to retire the old TC-4 and try a belt drive car for a change. I found this TC5 on eBay Australia, NIB for $400.. I figured the price was right, so had a bid and won..

I fitted her with an ITF chassis and top deck, FT alloy outdrives on the rear diff, and a FT spool up front.

Fitted the radio gear from my spare TC-4, and she is all ready to race.. The only thing left to do is tidy the wiring a little, set the trims on the radio, and re-check the setup.

The biggest plus with this car is that it comes with a battery strap as standard, although you still have the ability to tape the batteries in if you concerned with weight.

Now cleaned, rebuilt and retired to shelf duties.

Pretty in pink... NIB - But not for long -

Unfortunately the ITF chassis + top deck and the spool & alloy diff outdrives cost another $150 posted..

Good choice, you have the most important upgrades - alloy diff outdrives. Just a quick tip replace the rear 2 screws that hold the rear arms on (with the shims for toe in) with longer versions. Save yourself breaking them off. Its a good solid car after that.

hedge, cheers, thanks for that. I was told to replace those screws, but didnt know why..
yellow-dragon, dont worry about the hop-ups. A mate is running a stock TC5 with only the $20 ITF top deck and is doing OK.
