Yesterday I gave my 8 year old son, Aiden, one of my Bullhead's. He asked if he could spray it gold himself, so I thought 'why not?' We all have to start somewhere!
Obviously, with guidance from me, he roughed up the body with 1000 grit paper, washed it and dried it by himself.
Then he put the undercoat paint on and then put 3 layers of gold paint then 2 layers of lacquer. I did all the fiddly corners and made sure all the layers were equal.
I don't think he did a bad job for his first time...not 1 single run!
Later we will put the chrome parts on and the stickers then we're gonna fit some lights to the front!
I might need to build a bigger shed so we can both do our projects.....only time will tell! :)

Nice paint training for the youngster, but wear a mask buddy! paint fumes are evil!!!!!!

I sprayed all my bodies in my shed and so far nothing has exploded so I knew we'd be ok!
If he gets into it properly I'm getting him a proper mask. You're right scollins, paint fumes are awfull. We had to do a bit then go outside.
Thanks for the comments guys.

He should be proud of that ! it looks great, must be the excellent guidance. You're right about the bigger shed, my daughter ( is into building and it does take up some time and space but worth it.
