Started buying Components at the start of November 07, purchased a re-re Hotshot to pillage the running gear from to create a New Built Bigwig. New Cut body came from Snake Plisken in Israel, Chassis Suspension Arms and some miscellaneous parts came from Crash Cramer in Texas... Many thanks again! Finished off today by adding last few things... Technigold is in place but for the moment is one from a runner and the CVA's are Restored, (hopefully i can replace with these with new items over time). Actually just remembered there is one more part to get and that's the little subframe which sits along the top of the bathtub chassis... (drop me a line if you have one to trade!) The Bigwig was the Car on the old black and white flyers that i liked the most when i was 11 in 1987. Back then I had never seen a colour picture or the actual car and I always imagined it to be red instead of the blue, thought about painting it that way but then again I'm a sucker for Box Art!
Beautiful Car and gets better every day with age! They couldn't possibly re-re this car being the anniversary model, safe investment too!!!

Striking!

Very nice! I´m in the process of making a light runner and can´t wait to see what it can do with a 8.4 fitted!

Seems to me you should go ahead and find another in runner condition and paint that body in RED James. Nice looking, will someday have to pay you a visit down there just to see where most of my spares have ended up.

Cheers for the comments, I'd like to think that Tamiya would make this car off limits in terms of Re-Releasing, it would be like re-releasing the limited edition 30th anniversary porsche...

Glad to see your Bigwig came out so nice! My Bigwig runner project has been on hold for over 2 years (mainly due to lack of time) so 6 months is not that long

Very nice BW! Always considered these a little too toyish but they have grown on me after restoring one myself. Not as nice as Yours, mind You.

Cheers, I really like the car might as well put one together whilst they're still relatively cheap... One day it will be a runaway rarity!
