Broke a few of the original R Parts [the plastic is so brittle] including one nip I purchased recently. Tired of the $$$ cost of replacing them so I decided enough was enough. I made a few for runners and my friends. This is version 1 and it looks and functions well. Slightly different in design from the original shape - I designed them to keep my costs down. Now, I'll just have to see if I can make the hubs too - the originals have a few weak spots. Member comments are always welcome.

at last! a replacement that will not fail me.

You lucky guy! I have two celica's and a porsche i have restored all three chasses at the cost of a small fortune! Just got to get round to painting the bodies. Great work!

I don't think you will be breaking that anytime soon. Nice work.

Crash Cramer, Thank you for your comments. I'll post some additional photos once I've completed and installed. I've got a coupe of mod ideas I wish to address - see how they work - They function well right now - I guess I should make them look sexy too!?

fritjofarnold, I'll price them out once I get the process down pat.
As for the hubs, I'll look more closely at them shortly - I've noticed hairline cracks in the shock support mounting area as well as fractures on the section where the tapping screws thread onto. I've used a silicon tube as a solution but it's only a bandaid solution right now.

My mate is a cnc engineer, i have tried to blag him for ages to make some of the really rare and expensive bits from alloy! Told him he could make a small fortune if he was to do it but he just doesnt have the same passion for it.

I dont know about making a small fortune - maybe enough to cover the time & cost and support this joyous habit. .

Parts installed, looks sexy and best of all - fully functional. Tolerances are good. I am very happy with the results. I'll run another batch of these off shortly and make them available to those that wish to have a set to compensate for the brittle & hard to find replacements. These are light weight and will take a licking.
