Here’s my interpretation of a street version of tamiya’s beautiful taisan Porsche bodyset. It’s the re-release bodyset from Japan fitted on a M-04M chassis.
As I aimed for a street look I used the lower spoiler from the PIAA Porsche. The chassis is fitted with TL-01 suspension arms and some option parts. The wheelbase is (with some slight modification) perfect and the best thing of all, it’s now a proper rear driven GT2! As the body post holes weren’t pre drilled I decided keep the body posts hidden. That looks even better! Some exhausts and a wiper from ABC hobby where fitted and it seems that someone who looks like the Stig is driving the car…

Unfortunately it isn't a kit. I just bought an M-04 chassis which I modified to make it fit. Maybe Tamiya could make this kit...

Tamiya did make a kit to do this for the body when it was re released in 2006. It was a complete M04 with all of the parts to build it like you have. It sold for around 8000 yen.

This body was re-released over a year ago in a small production run and was only available in Japan. It had both rear wings (taisan and piaa) included, but only the taisan decals. I'm glad I was able to get one from Jason.

@bakaguyjean: I didn't know that, it's a shame they kept it for japan only.

Perfect! It looks like a 1:1 with the driver and exhaust. Excellent choice of colour and rims !

After all those questions, i never got around to saying, that i really love the shell in yellow, its great. I only asked about the shell, as i have another taisan chassis all built sitting here, with no shell. check out my taisan, in show room
