[Camel Tropy Update 5] A Defender 110 is born!
Decided to use the XC chassis after all as I just had it anyway and extended it with Carbon plates of a dunno what chassis. Using aluminum over such a lenght seemed not a very good idea to me. It's light metal but easily bendable with a total weight of 1.69KG... The reason why I also have choosen for this carbon plate is because it had nice groves so that I easly can adjust the length. Used an ordinary saw to cut the chassis very straight. Maybe a bit orthodox, but using the most simple tools have sometimes the best results. all the details on the body still need to be done like the slant on the rear doors. Filling the extra roof windows etc. Hope you guys like it so far! Need to say it is not exactly scale. The body is longer compared to the 1:1 and this is because the rear fender is not under the rear door and the rear window is too long. I needed to do this else it was a nightmare to glue it all together... not even to speak about the strenght loss of the body. FYI: It is 49.2cm long :-)
The axle kit comes from RcChannels.com. Quite a nice kit for a nice price I need to say. However the so called heavy Duty clips are rubbish. Replaced them with hardened metal ones

Looking GOOD But you're moving far to fast for me. You certainly start and mean to finish. I must admit my projects take time although when i get a kit usually have to stay put till its built. You would have thought tamiya would have done a model of such an icon? although if they do now guess you would be a bit miffed. Keep the pics coming. Loving it.

Ouch! The first pic hurts! But the last pic is great. It is really big, I like it. Hold on.
O no you did the xc chassis so much pain, you cut it throuh his hart, nou he is dead!! even but not for long.meby in a fey month he wil liv forever.
I hope it makes the chassis strong enough witch the carbon plates. If dear is enough place you can put dear 2 meby 3 acccu,s in dear. you put them together for a better long ride. it woudnt fantastic if its finisht.

Hi,
Just a quickie about that rear axle - is it aluminium, or some other type of foreign metal...?
