Today me and my son drove on the Tamiya Raceway Germany, because there is a Euro Cup Event tomorrow and today was the training session.

My Son got faster every lap, and I did not even alter something on his cars setup, he just adapted his driving to the car. I worked the other way round, trying to set the car up so I can drive it fast, which proved to be the wrong decision. So tomorrow I have a small chance of getting fast enough, otherwise I will be beaten by kids, in fact there are only a handful of adult Euro Fighter drivers, the rest only kids and teenagers.

But the best thing I saw today was a TamTech-Gear Lamborghini Countach LP500S that flew around the track today right in the middle of the free training session. It was quite quick on the straights, a little bit slow on the bends, but overall it was faster than any other car that was on the track at this time. Unfortunately I did not have my Camera at hand, and while I fetched it, the car has been packed away, I do not even know who drove it. But I will take my TamTech-Gear Porsche 934 with me tomorrow, maybe I will get a chance to race it (and maybe Tamiya adds a TTG class to the Euro Cup series).

The pictures show my son driving, he was not able to make some pictures of me driving, because he was either driving or marshalling.

Update: I uploaded some more pictures of the race day showing my son's Viper and some pics of the A-Final, neither me nor my son can be seen racing, because we both were in the B-Final.

Nice to see another Father sharing the love for the hobby with his kids! Looks like fun.

It was indeed great fun, although we both finished last. I kept on fighting with the setup till the second timed run and then was slowed down by a gear problem, so I only made it into the B-Final. There I started third and went up to second place, but then I had to go into the pits because of transponder problems and came out right behind my son. But the fun matters, not the result. And my result was not bad, considering I drove the fifth best lap of the day with a heavy nicad-battery, nearly all others had the lighter and more powerful nimhs, it was impossible for me to follow them on the long straights.
