Had to put a in motor with some more power,this motor is not build for speed and the Hilux also.
But i think that the standard 540 motor is to weak for the weight of the chassis.

Finished the gearbox with Dirt-tuned motor Hitec motor in a '83 Hilux Looks cool to me! Looks factory build by TRF High-lift with steroids Sprayed in metallic brown Chrome removed and sprayed matt black all Brite lite!!! Had real fun with this one Nice back with wide Yokohama tyres on HPI rims

I don't know if you've run one before but the weight of the truck has very little effect on the stock motor as it gets its power through low gearing and is really unstoppable unless it gets physically high centered, the higher rpm of this motor could cause shifting or tranny problems just a hint, but I've had no issues with any lack of power even in deep mud and snow using the kit motor.

@Wyoming,This is a low speed motor {17,000rpm}
had one in my blackfoot and i saw no different with the 540 stock motor.thanks for your reaction.

Think the stock motor is 14.500rpm..
Let us know how it works at least
