This Bronco is a project I started last year To keep it as real as possible, the Early Bronco's had coil springs up front, and leafs in the rear. I have since changed the chassis to TCS X-Trail chassis. I used the Axial axles and three link susp in the front with CR-01 coil springs and modified coil spring retainers. In the rear I drilled the frame and installed Hi-Lift spring hangers, RC4WD Soft Leaf Springs, and Bruiser shackles with home made tapered axle blocks made from servo horns. I used quad TLT-1 Shocks in the front and dual TLT-1 Shocks in the rear.I have installed an RC4WD R-2 Trans in her right now, but I am thinking of installing an RC4WD R-2 Disconnect with a separate disconnect and gear box in front of the trans to to run a winch, 'what do you guys think?' as I am waiting for the new RC4WD transfer case to arrive. I installed a Hextronic high torque steering servo, I have been running these servos on my 2.2's and have not had a single problem, not bad for $18.00!!!!! After the transfer case is installed, I will figure out batterie and radio gear placement. For the body, I used an HPI Bronco poly body which I timmed like crazy! I then took a Radio Shack Mangler Bronco body and butchered it to form the scale center section with the addition of some aluminum work and of coarse I had to throw Willy in for a driver! I still have to paint the beast, although I want to paint it like my real 68 Ford Bronco, I have not yet found an off white paint for the poly parts of the body. I will bust out some bumpers, tire rack, etc out of steel rod rod in the next couple of days, just been waiting for a cloudy day, it was 110 degrees her today, so sitting outside welding does not appeal at the momment!! I am also going to make a soft top as well out of the frabric of the soft top that was on my real Bronco the last time I olld her, ouchhh!!!!!. I hope everyone enjoy's!
