The michelin men are great where did you get them and the reg Plates did you make them yourself or what. Its fantastic looking and realistic looking truck pics like this that got me into trucks. Thanks

I seriously thought this was a 1:1 truck. Jawdropping attention to detail.

These are probably the most realistic 1:1 style pictures I've ever seen of any model. Superb workmanship

Simply wonderful!!!

CASE1

unbelievable. Thats scale building. Dont know what you do with them but looking good too!

ranger blue

28-Jun-2008

@case1 I hope like most people I play with them.

jeffy

28-Jun-2008

Exactly!!!! Whats the point having them if you dont use them. A bit like buying a porsche then catching the bus.

I have never understood the idea of shelf queens. If all you want to do with them is put them on a shelf and look at them, buy a static kit

jeffy

28-Jun-2008

Thats my thinking and to be fair the static kits have more detail and tend to be cheaper so its a real no brainer. I hate shelf queens. A nice looking usable item wins hands down and thats what you have

Great scania truck.the newest version they look so nice end real. the adelar on the back side of the truck is that an sticker decail or did you paint it. if you paint it then you are a great professional!

ranger blue

28-Jun-2008

@def4x4, it's a sticker I made up. (wish I could paint that good)

sparks, you are becoming my hero today and the day hasnt even finished. 1st you come to the aid of a fellow member with rare parts. now trying to banish shelf queens. i am a firm believer that you can use all your toys, and if you dont abuse them, they will still look good at the end of the day, good enough to display on a shelf. but the real beauty of tamiya, is if something happens to break, there are parts to fix it, and you can always repaint them. open all the boxes, free the oppressed toys and build and run them all, that is what i say

I couldn’t agree more Christian, after all that’s what they are for, no point in buying a radio control if all you are going to do is look at it, it’s a waste of money and more important you are stopping us normal people from enjoying something to use for what it was designed for. (To be used)

Is there a difference between a shelf queen and a closet queen? They both what come out

7.2inchdriver

28-Jun-2008

from this moment on every car i own in a runner queen.

7.2inchdriver

28-Jun-2008

ok, that was bad english, I meant to say 'every car i own IS a runner queen.

ranger blue

28-Jun-2008

Nice one C, you just gave me a good laugh, that's a new queen on me, and one that I don't mind admitting to being a fan of.

If I could buy a 1:1 Ferrari I wouldnt build a huge shelf in my livingroom and put it on it!! Ace truck by the way! have to say I thought it was real in the first pic ! only the reg plate gives it away!

jeffy

28-Jun-2008

Oh dear we have put the cat amongst the pigeons with our anti shelf queens. 7.2inchdriver is right FREE THE OPPRESSED RC MODELS. They are rc for a reason. Just like real cars accidents happen so repair them also gives you reason to change the colour while your at it. Shelvers get statics

ranger blue

28-Jun-2008

Thanks Archway but I still wouldn’t build a shelf for a 1:1 Ferrari, I'd seat in all day. Buy the way great user name you got, I was born near Archway in 66

ranger blue

28-Jun-2008

If it wasn’t for accidents I wouldn’t have given my king hauler a new paint job, but it did look good doing a barrel roll.

jeffy

28-Jun-2008

Runner queens ok. But trucks are kings of the road so runner KINGS perhaps

archway66

28-Jun-2008

No probs, I was born in 66 and the archway refers to my surname/ job. Im of the same opinion as you guys its great to build these things and make them look pretty but you get double the fun if you run them!!

29-Jun-2008

We will have to start our own sig, USED and sometimes ABUSED. QUEENS NOT WELCOME. Unless they are Christian’s runner queens

7.2inchdriver

29-Jun-2008

one of the most viewed and most commented on models in my showroom is my beat up old alfa. nearly 1200 views and as far from a shelf queen as you can possibly go, but the first one for me to want to display. no that is irony. just goes to show what people are really hungry for.

ranger blue

29-Jun-2008

Mine is my hi-lift (Black gets the vote) and it get used more than any other from my collection, nearly every day, and even better than that at only a few viewed behind is (Big Red) this very truck, used every weekend.
