When Tamiya released the Toyota Hilux, I really had to get this car! It has such a great detailed body. But what to do when you don’t like tamiya’s lifted version!? I did build the original chassis, but I couldn’t get the body as low as I wanted, also the wheels where standing a bit too wide and there wasn’t even space for a proper interior... That’s why I sold the chassis and bought a touareg for its XC chassis. After stretching the wheelbase it’s a perfect fit!
The car has an original interior from the old Hi-Lux fitted with a repro driver. With some modifications I was also able to fit the side bars and the exhaust. The colour is coral blue, weathered with some rust and sand to give it the old and used look.
All the painting and detailing took some weeks but I really love how it came out!

i love this truck. thought to put this on an xc never crossed my mind. how did you stretch the chassis and let us know how you solve the driveshaft issue. amazing work man.

5mm steel rod (cut to size) and a couple of SRB u jays, that will short out the rear shaft, it works fine, I done it on my XC
