Well, this is a original 58043 Grasshopper, not the re-release version. The car is built with only NIB vintage parts.
The Grasshopper is the car I remember best from my childhood. It must have been at least ten of them in my street. Therefore, I decided to do this one box-art. Not very interesting, but it sure gives me nostalgic feelings.
I bought the car nearly completed, and have only added a vintage 540 motor, a servo and the steering rods to the chassis. The body was unpainted, and I gave it 3 coats of pure white and added the original decals. In my opinion, white letters on the tires are obligatory on these vintage buggies, so I spent some time figuring how to do that nicely too. As this is the original, I chose number '56' for this one since the re-release only have '35' on its decalsheet..

Hope you like it! All comments are welcome

Luckily the paint on my real car is allot smoother than this It's actually a leather couch cushion placed on top of a table on my porch. The Grasshopper really deserve some pics on the grass though

Yes, the original came with a RS380 motor, and I think the re-re does too. RS540 motor was option.

Pictures are absolutely beautiful. Having just bought a Hopper I have been trawling members cars for inspiration and this one stopped me in my tracks. Lovely.

I share your feelings for this buggy. An awsome beginners car with the (nearly) indestructable chassis and cool body on top. It does get a bit carried away with a 540 but that´s all part of the charm. Oh, and original is ALWAYS best when it comes to GH:s. Nice one!
