The Minervan summer was coming to a close when Keeren Wells finally got the old F-150 trophy truck converted for the trails. The long journey south was only a week away, so he decided a good shake-down run was in order. His F-150 would be the support truck for the other rigs, and he couldn't afford any breakdowns.

He found some great terrain on the hills to the West of Minerva City, just north of the great lakes, where the truck performed admirably, handling everything from fern-covered hillocks to wind-smoothed boulders. There were teething problems, as expected - the trophy truck's open floor let in too much water when he hit the mud, and he arrived home like a man who'd had an accident in a chocolate factory. He didn't expect to encounter too much water on the journey south, but it would be best to seal up the interior just in case.

Keeren's BFG's slip a little on the dry mud... ...but navigate the mossy hills perfectly Tall ferns sway in the evening breeze And the truck keeps its poise on the steepest bank Plowing through Minervan ferns with ease, to reach the highest peaks and descend them once again, knocking down ferns as if they were only grass. Keeren takes a break on the banks of Lake Katrina.
