Finished my TA-04 restoration today. Managed to save the original, very badly painted, bodyshell by stripping it and the wing in good old nitro fuel (it really works!) and adding new decals.
The chassis didn’t need much work, just cleaning and rebuilding, and I added SSG carbon (what does SSG stand for?) upper decks, TRF dampers, universal shafts all round, alu steering, motor heatsink and rear ball diff’.
Power comes from a Tamiya 11T Super Modified motor from “Futureworks” here on TC together with an Mtroniks esc.
New wheels and tyres to finish off and it’s ready to go. Can’t wait for the test drive.

WOW! What a transformation! Looks mint and I hope mine will look as good as this when finished. Did you dip the entire shell in nitro fuel or did you use a cloth? Very nice mods to the chassis too...just lovely! Great work.

I filled a bucket half-full with 20% fuel and dipped it in. Very effective, it doesn't take long to shift the paint, even the thick stubborn stuff. Thanks for the comment!
