And then a great big brown box with stars on it arrived at the post office!
A little impulsive purchase last year after the taxman kindly returned all the money he took but should not have!.
This is a truly amazing kit. More bearings than I care to think about, and a beautiful gearbox, that unlike other Tamiya tanks, you have to assemble yourself. Then there is the DMD T-07 and the fiber optic lights.
The metal tracks that are available are pretty sweet too, but I can't quite justify the cost at the moment. Have to see what the taxman brings me this year.
Seriously considering a road version though. The camo thing just does not float my boat. Besides the fact that I really don't think I could pull off a convincing camo, I really bought this from a Tamiya engineering genius point of view. Not really a WMD kind of a guy.
I pulled out the old Hitec Focus 6 radio from my plane days, just had to modify it so that the throttle is self centering again.
Will try and blog the build if I do not get too excited.

I think as soon as I clear some of the current wish list I'll try out one of these war machines. I love the realism! Nice kit here. Oh, and I'm with you on the 'not being able to throw out the shipping boxes' I mean come on, the two stars logo is always a nice sight.
