I've been thinking of this project for a long time, and finaly got the spare time to get it done. I mean - take the HPI 200 mm Ford GT body and find a perfect chassis for it - RWD with wide tyres to achive that muscle efect! F102 or F103, what else? I had a runner F103RS besides my F1 shelf queens with almost no runnig time so... ...new wheels and foam tyres (front for LM chassis to match the diameter). What paint scheme to use on the body? I wanted a racy look, but didn't get a lot of reference pictures from a new GT that I would like. The only one was the 'Stillen GT' - orange & gun metal stripes. I used different decals, but tryed to achive the similar look. This is how it came out. It runs pretty well for a RWD chassis - with controled oversteer. I am sure I'm going to build another one as the shelf queen - in retro Gulf colours, without a wing, 3D lights and a white GoodYear Eagle print on the tyres.

Nicely done. I'm using the same body on a TA03 RWD only chassis.

Thanx guys! It feels really good to read all your comments! I am glad to earn your appreciation with my first model presented on TC. I will post some more pictures of my shelf queens shortly - just want to take some good pics. Now I am really thinking to do that retro Gulf thing. I need another f103 for putting on HPI De Tomaso Pantera - but it would need some widening on the rear axle - similar to some Cudas posted on TC - I think it would come out nice. I would be glad if someone would use the idea - it's not necessary that I would do it first. Maybe has someone a chassis laying around, not knowing what to do wit it... Thanx again!
