Finally got to finish my new built Rough Rider. The car is 100% new parts All the plastic parts were removed from the sprue by me. Used superb Rad22rad wheels and a NIB bodyset and NIP black bumper. I have the electronics here in unused condition and will install it later with a new hump battery. I took lots of time to finish the bodyset and forgive me the colours are not original. First I sprayed 4 layers of pearl white with 2 clearcoats afterwards. The hole body was masked with Tamiya tape and sprayed light blue metal. The transitions were polished and 4 layers of clear were applied. The decals had some matt areas and decided to clear coat them after putting them on. A tip: try to cut all the decals with rounded edges so clearcoating will not lift sharp tips. The painted process was made in 3 days with very hot weather. I like painting in very hot weather because it dries fast and paintbuildup is easy. Because of the high temperature I painted very wet and held the body in different angles to avaid running paint. In the end it was polished with the 3 compounds from tamiya and It is absolute perfect. Not a single paintrunner or dustparticle on this. I really like the metalpaint on this block-shaped body, it makes it less boring. As for the boxart, the colour looks red instead of orange and I really liked the blue version better to sit next to my Sand Scorcher. The driver was also made with care. The shirt was painted dark yellow with stripes and then clearcoated to receive watersilde decals from static kits. After applying them it was matt clearcoated and weatherd with a weatherset (sand). The face took about 7 layers and the inside of the helmet was painted brown leather along with the hands. The helmet was stock blue with some clearcoats (of course). I hope you like the result and this is sure one of my finest built (taking your time gives you perfect results). So much for my holliday project...
