I got this HB from a local ad. .The previous owner had fitted a 540 motor mount and motor to the chassis without taking one of the gears out ,so in order to make it work they had used woodwork screws to fix the mount in a random position , not the proper position ,which passed through the chassis and into the rear wishbone which stopped that swinging up and down and as the new can position wouldn't let the body fit onto the chassis they had cut a hole in the side of the shell to let the end bell stick out of the side of the shell. The hole was just above the rear wheel arch . So i repaired it and sorted the motor mount position and gears to the correct configuration and so put it back to how it should be - The roof pillars were missing ( pretty common problem with these ) so I made new ones and repaired the broken roof panel .Needs finishing and paint .Bought a new driver tree and wheel set

Good repair, how did you find anything that would stick to the shell to repair it?

Hi stickerbod .I scored the shell inside and around the hole outside and angled the side walls of the hole so the eventual filler would grip the plastic of the shell then i used plastic card and 'milliput' to bond the card to the inside of the shell ,then 'milliput' on the outside to 'laminate' the card to the shell - all done in one go so it all cured together - rub down and fine fill
