I didn't like my Hilux color in blue/white anymore and since Surfers do not own new cars, i dediced to repaint my Hilux in something more Surfer like.

I masked the white and after priming i sprayed the blue to filthy beige and weathered the to a Surfer like Hilux.

Which comes better? - the blue-white/shinny or the old/filthy Hilux? - comments please :)

Filthy Surfer Hilux - repainted and weathered as it was before - shinny new Hilux rust and dull laquer rusty, dirty and old has seen better days I didn't like it's colors anymore so masked, primed, painted and wheatered it and if i don't like this filthy Hilux anymore i'm going to make a new one :) filthy or shinny: what do you think?

I love the old look, the new look looks too toyish. How about some patches of weld painted with underseal lol..

Well, I like both I like the new paint job, although I'm not sure if I would have chosen beige with white...

Like a true surfie Hi-lux. Beaten up old wreck with a brand new surfboard in the back. Only thing missing is the surfie stickers plastered all over it, Billabong, Ripcurl etc.

that filthy Hilux rules!!! i can remeber your old surfer car a long time ago - it was a VW Passat, i think all completly stickered with Surfer decals like F2, RipCurl, NeilPryde and so on i think this Hilux is very original for a Surfer - 'hang loose'

Your hilux looked good before the paint job and now it looks fantastic .Most early Japanese vehicles were rot boxes and this looks very realistic now.

The new rusty look is very nice, but the blue/white sheme was very very nice, too ! You have to build a second Hilux in that sheme again ! :-p or maybe red/white patriotic sheme

Wow Miga, this is awesome!! The shiny was good but this is the true face of a Hilux, old beat up and doing it's job every day, chasing the endless summer

You're so right about how surfers don't own new $20,000 trucks. I was thinking about how a rust job would look cool if you actually tore some of the body away like around the wheel wells. I guess that would be really committing to the look at the expense of your awesome RC, but it would be cool. Awesome Hilux, one of my favorites I've seen yet!
